Thank you. That really dropped my mood. The metaphor of Cassandra is so depressing yet so very true. It’s really hard watching the world walk willingly into a fire they started while blaming you for starting it.
I’ve recently taken to trying to follow the idea that people don’t tend to listen to words but they do listen to incentives. I think our job might be to build the right incentives and let the world think what it will. I wrote a post on how to do that without getting stuck in the losing battle of democratic politics. In particular, the cryptoanarchists are the most inspiring to me at the moment because of how they manage to craft liberty, not by escaping the system, but by using the system against itself. In fact, Satoshi Nakamoto is Japanese for “working within the foundations” which hints at the intention of bitcoin in helping everyone route around the gatekeepers.
